Morning News...

The youngest was watching the early news today and heard about the current clash of the countries conflict between Russia and Georgia over the Ossetia region... and then proceeded to tell me that she was afraid for her friend being caught in a blast or something because they recently moved to Georgia... as in the state of Georgia in the USA....

She and I both got a good chuckle out of this once I pointed out that Georgia is also a country and that if the state of Georgia and Russia were at war, the whole of the USA would be in a state of emergency/uproar...

Still, it makes me wonder what they teach kids in school these days... by the time I was her age, I knew my world geography very well... silly curriculum, geography's for kids!

Gasp!

It lives and it's tired of the rain.

In other news, the Olympics are awesome and so are 7-tiered patchwork rainbow circle skirts. The latter are a pain in the behind to make, but oh so worth it. I highly recommend trying to make one some time... if you use elastic for the waistband, the skirt can double as a dress... yay! ^_^
